The Broadcasting course is a project-based, digital video production class for select seventh and eighth grade students. Students apply in the spring for the following year's program. The class is comprised of applicants chosen on the basis of academic and citizenship grades, communication skills, and teacher recommendations.

The students in Broadcasting produce a twice-monthly television program, WMS News. Broadcast team members write, shoot, edit, and produce their own segments to be aired for all students during their advisory classes. WMS News features a diverse range of topics, including student news, classroom activities, school-wide events, life-skills, and even humor.

In Broadcasting, students use technology tools to enhance their creativity and communication. It's this blending of liberal arts and technology that allows students to learn and grow both as individuals, and as a part of a team, through activities that are expressive, meaningful, and fun.
