Suggested School Supplies
*Education Code 49011.
a) A pupil enrolled in a public school shall not be required to pay a pupil fee for participation in an educational activity.
1) All supplies, materials, and equipment needed to participate in educational activities shall be provided to pupils free of charge.
We recommend that each student have the following items and bring them to school each day:
- Fully charged computer device and charger
- Personal reading book: students will read at least 25 books per year to meet District & State Language Arts Standards
- Basic essentials such as backpack, pencils, pens, and notebook paper
- Other supplies may be requested by individual teachers
Most courses will not use additional materials. As such, please reference the teacher’s syllabus for any materials that may help your student stay organized and improve their academic performance. All required materials are provided by the school.
Beginning in Middle School, students need to begin to use calendars and planners to improve academic performance, help students feel better prepared to walk into class each day, and help parents know what is going on during a great deal of their child’s day. Digital tools through their laptop or cell phone are best as they can integrate with teacher’s Google Classroom calendars and communications. However, having a physical day planner or schedule book will also help.
If you have financial difficulty providing any requested items, please contact your counselor.
